New details have come to light from the investigative file of Violand Braçellari, the 43-year-old involved in the tragic incident in Lozhani i Maliqi, where officer Enea Mekolli was killed.

The 2015 investigation documents show that Braçellari was a person known to the authorities and residents of the area. In his testimony before the prosecution, the headman of the village of Lozhan, Sabri Braçellari, stated that relations with the suspect's family were not good and that they lived in one of the abandoned houses in the area.

According to the testimony, Braçellari's family had returned to the village after a period of residence in Vlora, while residents of the neighborhood often used the apartments left empty by families who had left for the cities.

The mayor also recalls a police operation conducted in September 2015, when police forces conducted numerous searches in the area as part of a narcotics investigation. He said he was called by the area inspector to show officers the apartments where the searches would be conducted, and the operation lasted until the early hours of the morning.

"I live in Lozhan, the defendant lives in Vlora. His parents have been back in Lozhan for about a year and a half. They are living in the house of Eduart Braçellari, who is Mit'hat's son. Mit'hat's apartment is 50-70 m from Shefqet Braçellari's apartment. The defendant's father is disabled, and his wife serves him. Previously, they kept cattle, they had a hired shepherd.

I have not had good relations with them. The houses in that neighborhood are abandoned and whoever wants to uses them. In September 2015 I do not remember if Violandi was in the village. In September 2015, during that period, I saw Violandi very rarely.

The day the police arrived, the area inspector called me and asked me to show him Luan Braçellari's house, where the police stayed until around 03:00. There were 5-6 police officers and me. His father was inside, as he is disabled. The police searched several apartments. The anti-drug chief brought some narcotics residues; he was there himself when he searched them. A report was also kept, which I signed.

I don't know if any heating equipment was found in Mit'hat's apartment, where the defendant's parents live. The anti-drug chief, Besnik Qevani, searched 4-5 apartments only in the presence of police officers. I was not present, nor was the defendant's father. The chief came there and said: "I found this in Shefqet Braçellari's house" (a little bit of hashish residue). The search was carried out for 3 days in a row. The defendant was not in the village that day ," the headman said.
