The plenary session of the Parliament was accompanied by strong debates between the majority and the opposition, due to the murder of the officer in Korça, Enea Mekolli, during a police operation.

The opposition demanded an account from the Minister of Interior, Besfort Lamallari, as to why the Eagles were sent on an operation to capture a highly dangerous wanted person, thus endangering the lives of the officers.

Lamallari chose to leave the session with the excuse that he was affected by the incident and that he needed to be at the hospital to inquire about the condition of the injured officer.

"I was communicating with the director of the State Police, and he informed me that the policeman's life is in danger. Measures will be taken and the entire incident will be investigated. I wanted to be here to show my respect, but I'd rather be there," Lamallari declared.

In fact, the Minister of the Interior avoided the questioning and accountability demanded by the opposition.
