The "Balluku" case delayed the approval of IBAR, Koçiu is surprised: It has not affected progress

The "Balluku" case delayed the approval of IBAR, Koçiu is

Deputy Prime Minister Albana Koçiu was asked today whether the vote in favor of Belinda Balluku's immunity has affected the integration process.

Koçiu insisted that these developments have not in any way affected Albania's progress towards the European Union nor its relationship with justice institutions.

"All these decisions have not affected Albania's progress nor have they called into question its relationship with justice. They are simply allusions by the opposition and those who smear it daily. We are discussing and negotiating to close the group chapters within this decade. They must accept that we are doing our tasks with dedication and seriousness, and the EU recognizes our progress," said Koçiu.

Referring to the IBAR report, Koçiu claimed that European Commission documents are being interpreted politically.

"The IBAR report should be read well and clearly, as it is written. It is good not to make wrong interpretations of what is written in the European Commission reports because it is technical language that at the end of the day orients institutions to carry out and undertake commitments," she said.
